    SFI Growers Programme

Featuring: Elaine Ingham, Merlin Olson, Michael Doyne, Nikki Casey, Paul Casey, Peter Doyne, Rob Sutherland

The first two growers, Paul and Rob have been participating in the SFI Growers programme and Elaine visits to see how they are going. The SFl programme is designed to guide and support the growers in their use of compost and compost teas.

The last growers, Peter and Michael, are new to the whole system of using compost and compost teas and how to get the soil biology going. Elaine is interested in seeing what their problems are and how SFI can help them.

The Result: In all cases the use of compost and compost tea to establish the correct soil biology will resolve the problems these growers have. A good soil structure will optimise root growth which then allows the plants to flourish and avoid competition with weeds. Working with the SFI growers program is a sure way to check and measure at each step of your program, to make sure that what you are doing is going to be beneficial to the soil. It is essential to test and keep records so that any problems can be identified in the future.
